As our abbreviated name (GWRM) implies, most of our models are inspired by the Great Western Railway of south-west
Britain. Although we are based in Cambridge, our members are drawn from all parts of the Waikato including Hamilton, Huntly, Matamata, Te Aroha, Tirau, Waihi Gorge, and we even have some ‘country members’ from as far away as Taranaki.

OPENING TIMES

The Clubrooms will be open as usual on the Sundays before and after Xmas for visitors between 10am and 2pm with the usual gold coin entry for adults and children are free.

The big trains will run again on Sunday 18th January 2026 after having a Xmas break to build up "steam" for the new year ahead.
